JCSO does not publish records-counter hours in the reviewed material, so call before traveling.

JCSO states a $5 minimum per report and estimates 10 to 14 business days before approval and release. It requests exact change or check, with cards accepted at main headquarters. Call the Records status line for the current process.
Choose the office based on who created the record and which custody system applies.
- For a released adult or county release record, start with the Jefferson County release search and records path.
- For active state parole or probation, use Parole / Probation and the MODOC field-office directory.
- For the county’s recent adult departures, check Released Last 24 Hours as a subset of the official 72-hour list.
- For a calculated state sentence date or a custody alert, use Inmate Release Date or VINELink Release Check.
- For juvenile detention or probation, call the Jefferson County Juvenile Office at 636-797-5350, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- For a state prisoner, call MODOC at 573-751-2389 or use its official offender search and Constituent Services.
- For federal or immigration detention, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator that matches the custodian.
The Jefferson County Clerk accepts county public-record requests in person at 729 Maple Street in Hillsboro, by mail at PO Box 100, Hillsboro, MO 63050, or by email at countyclerk@jeffcomo.org. Questions go to 636-797-5486. Costs vary, and the Clerk supplies an estimate. Begin Sheriff-created jail records with JCSO; the Clerk can coordinate records maintained by another county department through the county process.

A docket can explain bond, disposition, sentence, probation, or an amended order, but the custodian’s record remains the source for the actual release timestamp.
